Crystal Milner

Hello! My name is Crystal Milner and I am currently a Senior at Utah Valley University. I am majoring in Deaf Studies with an emphasis in interpreting. I am a transfer student from Salt Lake Community College where I received an Associates degree in General Education. In April of 2016 I successfully passed the written Utah Certification Knowledge Exam. I will graduate December 2017 with my Bachelors of the Arts as a Deaf Studies Major with an emphasis in interpreting.  I have loved learning about the Deaf community and culture. I am excited to start my career as an ASL/English Interpreter.

Goals:

In the next 6 months it is my goal to pass the Novice certification test for the state of Utah.

I would then like to get a job working as an interpreter. I want to work in VRS and post secondary education.

Within two years I will pass the Professional Certification test for the state of Utah.

Within 5 years I will obtain the NIC.
